St. Lucie to Flushing

Interview With Mets Right Handed Pitcher Michael Fulmer

On Sunday I had the opportunity to get on the phone with one of the Mets top prospects in RHP Michael Fulmer to discuss a variety of topics. Fulmer was the Mets supplemental 1st round selection that they received as compensation for Pedro Feliciano signing with the New York Yankees. As a 19 year old in Low-A Savannah Fulmer posted a 7-6 record with a 2.74 ERA in 21 starts. He tossed 108.1 innings and posted a solid 7.5 hits/9 inning ratio along with a 3.2 walk/9 and 8.4 strikeout/9. Fulmer was ranked the #7 prospect in the Mets system by Baseball America this winter, though that was prior to the acquisition of Travis d’Arnaud and Noah Syndergaard. If simple math and logic comes in to play Fulmer would be ranked 9th in the system which would say something to the growth this farm has made since the new regime came in. Fulmer will be ranked higher than 9th in my prospect ranking to be released in the next week or so. Please click below to listen to my discussion with Mets RHP Michael Fulmer, Enjoy!
